An excellent website created by Mr. George Ciampa,
a U.S. Army WWII veteran of five campaigns in Europe
including the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the
Bulge. This marvelous site is dedicated to the fervent desire
to reach high school students, in particular, stressing the
importance of freedom and delivering the factual message
that so many young American lives have been sacrificed to
insure our safety and lifestyle that we all enjoy.

 

Fallen But Not Forgotten
A beautiful Dutch/English website webmastered by Bert Caris and
Landgraaf & Marcel Kleijkers. This moving website pays tribute to
the many American service men buried in Margraten, who gave their
lives for the freedom of others. This and ensuring that the stories of
their lives will never be forgotten are the main goals of this wonderful
website.



30th Infantry Division - "Old Hickory"
A very informative website created and maintained by
Warren Watson, dedicated to his father and his fellow comrades
who served with K Company - 117th Infantry Regiment of the 30th.
Filled with highly useful information and photographs, this website
is an extremely useful resource for those researching the 30th and
other units who took part in the ETO during WWII.

to all the men and women who acted during World War II, to restore freedom

English and Walloon. Located just 2 miles from the Henri-Chapelle American
Cemetery, this unique museum is a must-see for any European traveler.

Known as "The Big Red One" after its shoulder patch; also nicknamed "The Fighting First".

A P-47 Combat Group assigned to the U.S.A.A.F 9th Air Force whose motto was "Nulli Secundus" - "Second To None".

 

 

390th Bombardment Group (Heavy) - U.S. Army Air Force

A B-17 Bomb Group assigned to the 13th Combat Bombardment Wing - 3rd Bomb Division of the 8th Bomber Command.

 

 

401st Bombardment Group (Heavy) - U.S. Army Air Force

A B-17 Bomb Group assigned to the 94th Combat Bombardment Wing - 1st Bomb Division of the 8th Bomber Command.

 

 

434th Troop Carrier Group - U.S. Army Air Force

The 434th was assigned to the 53rd Troop Carrier Wing. Consisting of the 71st, 72nd, 73rd and 74th Troop Carrier Squadrons and using 52 C-47's, the group was one of many that delivered gliders into Normandy on D-Day.

 

 

435th Troop Carrier Group - U.S. Army Air Force

The 435th was assigned to the 53rd Troop Carrier Wing. Consisting of the 75th, 76th, 77th and 78th Troop Carrier Squadrons, the group was one of many that delivered paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division into Normandy on D-Day.

 

 

 

446th Bombardment Group (Heavy) - U.S. Army Air Force

A B-17 Bomb Group assigned to the 20th Combat Bombardment Wing - 2nd Bomb Division of the 8th Bomber Command.
