My uncle, Pfc. Charles Williams, Jr. was killed in action near Schmidt, Germany on November 8, 1944.

He was with the 112th Infantry Regiment - 28th Infantry Division and was on a mission to capture
and hold the small German village when he died as the result of a severe shrapnel wound of the hip.

Unfortunately, his remains were not repatriated back to the United States.

He now rests in Plot C, Row 15, Grave 41 in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery.

Like thousands of other brave young men, Europe is his final resting place.

This website is dedicated to preserving the memory of all American men and women that survived the war
or who gave their lives for the freedom of others and who remain in honorable rest so far away from home and loved ones.

It is also being established for those family members who wish to honor their loved ones buried overseas
with a video remembrance of their life as well as the sacrifice each has made for his family and his country.
